LANpoints now available with newer Windows CE version

CE5 on fixed-mount stationary and vehicle-mount models

from top left: LANpoint PLUS, LANpoint 7, LANpoint TIME, LANpoint CE.NET

The LANpoint PLUS, LANpoint 7, LANpoint TIME, and LANpoint CE.NET computers now run either Microsoft Windows CE.NET version 4.2 or Windows CE version 5.0 operating systems.

The new operating system choice improves programmability, database accessibility, and WiFi communications in the entire Intelligent Instrumentation LANpoint data collection product line.  Windows CE, whether version 4.2 or 5.0, features the familiar Windows WIN32 API environment allowing developers the convenience of using their existing desktop development skills with Microsoft’s development tools for creating custom managed-code solutions in Visual Basic.NET, Visual C#.NET and eMbedded Visual C++.

The upgraded operating systems are available on all Windows models, and the upgrade includes:

         Visual Studio.NET 2003 Professional,

         Visual Studio 2005 Professional, and

         Visual Studio 2008 Professional

Price Reduction on EZ-ID fingerprint reader

list price dropped almost 30% - now well less than the previous $995 price

EZ-ID fingerprint reader

Continuing to bring you the best value in industrial data collection, Intelligent Instrumentation has followed the successful methodology of working with our suppliers to reduce the cost to manufacture - and therefore the price to you - on another industrial product, the EZ-ID biometric fingerprint reader.

Remember, this fingerprint reader has an industrial optical fingerprint sensor, not the usual run-of-the-mill silicone sensor that exposes the sensor surface to damaging wear-and tear.

The sensor is encased behind a high-quality optical grade glass, eliminating damage due to abrasion, exposure to weather, and other unfriendly environments.

Its fingerprint matching algorithms allow quick fingerprint verification as well as more rigorous fingerprint identification which allows use without the need for a badge or the entry of a unique ID number.

Since the fingerprint database and matching algorithms are contained within the self-contained EZ-ID unit, it can be used whether the network and server is available or not.  It works with any of the LANpoint computers.

The list price is now about 30% less than when first introduced, so if you have a need for collecting time and attendance data while eliminating buddy punching, or a tough access control application, check it out now.

Regular users of the Intelligent Instrumentation Web sites, like instrument.com and lanpoint.com, may notice some differences recently.  For instance, downloading sample programs, SDKs, manuals, and so on, requires login.

These websites have always required login in order to view prices, and that remains unchanged.  That same login will now also provide the ability to download technical documentation and software tools.  Pre-sales information such as product brochures and data sheets are still available without logging in.

It's very easy to login.  You will need to have cookies enabled.  The first time you click on the login/register link (click pic above to see some page snippets that show the link), you will be asked for some identifying and contact information.  Once you enter that, you will be returned to the page from which you requested the information - and the hidden download or price information or download page contents will now be shown.  It's quick and easy, and we won't use your information for any unauthorized purposes.

Meeting with the Bobs

We have a "new" Central U.S. Sales manager.  Actually, many of you already know Bob McTavish from his earlier positions with Intelligent Instrumentation.  While he was away, he gained valuable experience which may be of help to you.  Trouble is, we have conflicting reports of his interim experience.  Now you get to pick the one that strikes you as the true one!

Option 1:

Hollywood celebrity pantomime

For some of the longer term partners of Intelligent Instrumentation you may remember Bob McTavish from Michigan.  Bob has rejoined Intelligent Instrumentation to manage the partners in the central region.

During his time away from I3 Bob was looking to find himself so he spent several days in meditation on the beach. This lead to many hours at the tiki Bar, and then a brief period in the county jail followed by an extended period at rehab.  Bob finally "found himself" at rehab and decided that his calling was to support the VAR channel in the data collection marketplace.

Please welcome Bob back.

Option 2:
Meeting with the Bob's

As you know the requirement to work in the field sales group is to be named Bob.  Well, we dusted off a previous Bob to jump on board in the central region.  For some of the longer term partners you may remember Bob McTavish from Michigan.  During his time away from I3 Bob has been in software sales covering products in the ERP and Manufacturing Execution areas.  This experience on the integration and software side of the business should help Bob in relating to the channel partners.  If you have not already heard from Bob look forward to a call or visit in the near future.

For the "Office Space"  movie fans now you can visit I3 and have a "meeting with the Bobs".

Bob covers these states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and also eastern Canada
