EDAS CE's open-architecture design makes connecting your control/monitoring solution to back-end systems simpler, easier to maintain, and less expensive. The EDAS CE combines the reliability and packaging of a PLC with the programmability, flexibility, and connectivity of embedded PC control.

The EDAS CE Advantages Include:

  • Windows CE 3.0 - high-level programming environment for application development, Visual C++ programmable, and provides true multitasking allowing both control and monitoring functions to run simultaneously on EDAS CE.
  • Standalone Datalogger or Network Operation - EDAS CE provides local intelligence and non-volatile storage (up to 500 MB), built-in Ethernet, including a TCP/IP stack, allowing applications running on EDAS CE to communicate with other computers and other EDAS CE systems on your network as part of a plant-wide monitoring and control solution. Other network devices can poll the EDAS CE for data or applications can be downloaded directly on the unit enabling it to provide real-time control in the event of network down time.
  • Embedded Web Server - allows communication and real-time display of data through a standard browser interface. EDAS CE is available pre-loaded with WebDevice, a full-featured web server complete with push technology, a built in scripting language and ODBC database capability. WebDevice makes turning the EDAS CE into a custom monitoring or control device as simple as writing HTML and script.
  • Flexible Modular I/O - a wide range of digital, analog, input, output, RS-232, and specialty modules connect to virtually all sensor signals including pressure, temperature, flow, voltage, current, relays, and RS-232 devices. Each EDAS CE controller supports up to 12 I/O modules allowing from 8 to 192 I/O points.
