Intermec is suggesting the CV30 as a replacement for the discontinued Intermec Trakker Antares T2480, T2481, T2485, T2486

time to consider LANpoint?

Intermec has been making shop floor data collection terminals/computers for years now. You’ve probably seen their leading products like the Intermec Trakker Antares 2480, 2481, 2485 and 2486 terminals.

You may also have some installed and have found out that they are no longer available - and that terminals that are offered in place of these stationary terminals alarmingly may cost much more.

If you want to replace terminals or expand your system, what can you do besides pony-up the extra cash and make significant changes in application software, support infrastructure, and the like?

Ask about our Intermec trade-in policy!

Well, you do have a choice.  Look at some of the similar Intelligent Instrumentation terminals designed and built with true open-systems operating systems.  We've designed and manufactured these terminals in Tucson, Arizona - some many years ago - and they're still available while continually being improved.  We believe in supporting our customers over the long haul.  For instance, the LANpoint PRO was first released in 1996 and we have been building it in the U.S. ever since that time.  We have no plans of obsoleting it.  Our policy of producing quality, open architecture data collection terminals that remain available for a decade or more means that you will not be left high and dry.  We protect your investment in equipment AND technology.

The LANpoint PRO and FACTORYpoint PRO have a 4x40 line display, various keyboard options, run true MS DOS, are programmable with C/C++ (and other common languages), have many autoID ports and serial ports, and can be expanded via PC/104 and PCMCIA cards to include many functions that aren't available elsewhere.  The FACTORYpoint PRO is housed behind a chemical-resistant silicon rubber one-piece faceplate/keyboard that is sealed to the rating of NEMA4/IP66 for hose-down/scrub-down applications.  These are terminals you will want to examine if you are looking at a replacement, upgrade, or expansion of a system of Intermec Trakker Antares T2480 or T2485 terminals.

Need a bigger display? Consider the LANpoint 7 terminal with 1/2 VGA graphics/text display as a good upgrade for your Intermec Trakker Antares T2481 or T2486 terminals.  These terminals run the Windows CE OS - either version 4.2 or version 5.0.  They have a 640 x 240 graphical display, full keyboard, lots of memory, lots of expandability, modern support and networking tools, lots of COM ports and autoID options, and have not only been available for years, but will be available for years to come.

All LANpoint terminals are built around open architecture standards so you can take advantage of new technology as it comes along.

Lanpoint uses standard connectors, provides support for many types of 3rd party bar code input scanners and other AutoID devices. In addition, all LANpoint terminals have no moving parts to wear out and break.  Even many of your existing Intermec or other laser scanners will work with LANpoint terminals.  If you need terminal emulation, IBM5250, IBM3270 and VT/ANSI emulation is available.

Consider a true open-architectured terminal to replace your Intermec Trakker Antares terminals.  You'll be glad you did - they'll be available for a long time and they will last a long time.

And since Intelligent Instrumentation designs and manufactures its own data collection terminals, you can be sure of the most accurate and timely support through out the lifetime of the terminal.
