Sky-Trax Partners with Intelligent Instrumentation to
Introduce Real-time Location and Tracking System

Sky-Trax, Inc., a leading supplier of real-time vehicle location and inventory tracking systems, has announced a partnership agreement with Intelligent Instrumentation headquartered in Tucson, AZ, to offer their system as a fully integrated local positioning system based on Sky-Trax's digital imaging sensors and software, and Intelligent Instrumentation's rugged family of LANpoint XL full screen vehicle computers.

Sky-Trax Local Positioning System^™ (LPS) is a patent pending automated position determination system that can be attached to vehicles such as forklift trucks to determine their location and the location of their load. It provides GPS-like functionality, but is based on optics instead of radio waves, and is unaffected by building structures or contents. This smart sensor system allows for automatic real-time tracking of objects inside manufacturing and warehousing facilities. Because it is based on digital imaging sensors and software, it is very reliable and offers an unprecedented level of accuracy and precision - about ten times better than any other current commercial technology. As a benchmark, a competitive RFID / WIFI solution can track objects to about +/- 20 feet, while the LPS system can determine location to +/- a few inches.
